CarrierOS AI TMS Comparison
This CarrierOS AI TMS comparison looks at six transportation management systems through the needs of a working trucking carrier: price, office workload, integrations, dispatch, billing, and how well the system fits the fleet.
There is no single best TMS for every trucking company. A one-truck owner-operator does not need the same setup as a 150-truck carrier with EDI customers, several terminals, and a brokerage division. The useful question is simpler: which system fits the work your company must complete every day?
Disclosure: CarrierOS AI TMS is our product. This article uses public vendor websites and documentation, not private access to competitors’ systems. We include cases where another platform may be a better fit. Prices and features can change, so confirm important details with each vendor before buying.
How we researched this comparison
Research checked July 25, 2026. We reviewed each vendor’s current pricing, product, integration, and help pages. We compared published facts, not review scores or private sales claims. When a vendor requires a custom quote, we say so.
- Pricing means the vendor’s public starting price or pricing model. It may not include taxes, add-ons, implementation, or a custom agreement.
- Integration counts are the vendor’s own published counts. A large count does not prove that the exact connection your fleet needs is available on your plan.
- Product fit is our editorial judgment based on public features and the operating needs described in this guide.
- This article is scheduled for quarterly review. The next review is due in October 2026.
The quick answer
CarrierOS AI TMS is aimed at small and growing carriers that want AI-assisted rate-confirmation entry, one connected load record, clear truck-based pricing, and no separate office-user fees. Its main current limit is integration depth.
Truckbase is the closest carrier-focused alternative and advertises a broader ELD, EDI, tracking, and QuickBooks ecosystem. TruckingOffice is attractive for owner-operators and fleets that put low cost, IFTA, and established basic tools first. AscendTMS covers carriers, brokers, 3PLs, and shippers with many integrations. Alvys fits integration-heavy or hybrid carrier-broker operations. Rose Rocket serves companies that need highly configurable workflows and can support a larger implementation and budget.

What should a small carrier compare?
A long feature list can hide the questions that matter. A TMS can offer hundreds of tools and still fail your office if dispatchers avoid it, PODs remain scattered, billing rebuilds every load, or the monthly cost is hard to predict.
1
How pricing scales
Some systems charge by active truck, some by office user, some by load, and some only provide a custom quote. Compare your real truck count, office-user count, and monthly load volume.
2
What work disappears
Ask the vendor to show a broker email becoming a reviewed load, a driver adding a POD, billing checking the packet, and driver pay using the delivered-load record.
3
Which records stay connected
The rate confirmation, stops, assignments, updates, documents, invoice, and settlement should not become separate records in separate tools.
4
Which integrations work now
Check the exact ELD, accounting system, factoring company, load board, tracking provider, fuel card, EDI customer, or API connection your company needs. Ask whether it costs extra.
5
Whether your team can use it
During a trial or demo, enter a real load, assign equipment, upload documents, prepare an invoice, review driver pay, and retrieve the record later.
1. CarrierOS AI TMS
CarrierOS AI TMS is built around the daily work of small and growing trucking carriers. Dispatch, documents, billing, and driver settlement review begin with the same load record.
Its AI rate confirmation reader prepares a structured draft from common rate-confirmation details. The dispatcher checks the broker, rate, stops, dates, equipment, references, and source document before creating the load. This is assisted entry with human review, not blind automation.
Public pricing is $20 per active billable truck per month after a 30-day free trial. Dispatch, accounting, ownership, and support users are not charged as separate seats.

Good fit
Choose CarrierOS AI when
- You want transparent truck-based pricing and no office-seat charge.
- AI-assisted rate-confirmation entry would remove repeated typing.
- Your office wants one load record from dispatch through billing and driver pay.
- You prefer a focused carrier workflow over a broad broker or enterprise system.
Check first
Pause and verify when
- A specific ELD, EDI customer, accounting sync, load board, or factoring connection is required.
- Your operation needs a combined carrier and brokerage system.
- A long implementation history or large third-party review base is required.
- Your team needs highly customized no-code workflows.
Where CarrierOS AI is weaker
CarrierOS AI is newer and does not yet advertise the large integration catalogs offered by Truckbase, AscendTMS, Alvys, or Rose Rocket. A simpler system can be easier to adopt, but it should not come at the cost of a connection your business needs.
2. CarrierOS AI vs. Truckbase
Truckbase is the closest direct competitor in this group. Its website promotes an AI-powered load importer, text and email dispatch, driver document scanning, invoicing, settlements, tracking, EDI, and QuickBooks. Its tracking page says it connects with more than 30 ELD providers.
Truckbase’s official pricing page now states a $290 monthly minimum when billed annually. It offers per-truck, per-driver, per-load, flat annual, and custom options, then builds the final proposal with the carrier.
Truckbase may fit better
Choose Truckbase when
- You need one of its 30+ advertised ELD connections and real-time truck tracking.
- EDI and QuickBooks connections are required now.
- You want free live virtual onboarding and the support terms shown on its pricing page.
- Your operation can support the $290 published minimum and a custom proposal.
CarrierOS AI may fit better
Choose CarrierOS AI when
- You want a clearly published $20-per-active-truck price.
- You do not want separate office-user fees.
- You prefer to start with a 30-day trial before a pricing consultation.
- Your required integrations are already available or can wait.
Verdict: Truckbase currently has the advantage in published ELD coverage, EDI, tracking, and QuickBooks connectivity. CarrierOS AI has the advantage in pricing simplicity and a focused carrier workflow at a lower entry cost for a small fleet.
3. CarrierOS AI vs. TruckingOffice
TruckingOffice is the strongest low-price competitor in this comparison. Its official pricing page lists Basic at $25 per month for one to two trucks, $55 for three to seven, and $90 for eight or more. Pro is $35, $75, or $130 for the same fleet groups.
The same page offers a 30-day trial without a credit card and says additional users do not have separate fees. TruckingOffice includes dispatch, invoicing, expenses, maintenance, driver reports, IFTA tools, document storage, factoring or remit-to support, load planning, and settlement tools. It also offers an ELD product.
TruckingOffice may fit better
Choose TruckingOffice when
- Low monthly cost is the first priority.
- IFTA and an available ELD matter more than AI-assisted entry.
- You need basic dispatch, invoice, expense, and maintenance records.
- You prefer an established owner-operator-oriented product.
CarrierOS AI may fit better
Choose CarrierOS AI when
- You want AI-assisted rate-confirmation reading with human review.
- You want document readiness and invoice-packet work tied closely to the load.
- You want a visual Truck Board and a more modern workflow.
- You prefer pricing that changes one active truck at a time instead of fleet tiers.
Verdict: TruckingOffice is often less expensive. For example, its three-to-seven-truck Basic plan is $55 per month, while five active CarrierOS trucks would be $100 after the trial. CarrierOS AI makes its case through AI-assisted entry and connected office work, not by claiming to be the lowest-price TMS.
4. CarrierOS AI vs. AscendTMS
AscendTMS serves carriers, brokers, 3PLs, and shippers. Its official pricing page lists Basic at $69 per user/month, Premium at $119, and Pro at $149. It advertises a 30-day trial, no setup fees or contracts, and more than 140 preinstalled integrations.
Ascend also promotes load searching and posting, truck matching, driver-pay reporting, IFTA, carrier qualification, payment tools, and modules for both asset and non-asset transportation businesses.
AscendTMS may fit better
Choose AscendTMS when
- You need both carrier and brokerage workflows.
- Load searching, posting, and truck matching belong inside the TMS.
- IFTA and a large integration catalog are important.
- Per-user pricing works well because you have many trucks and few office users.
CarrierOS AI may fit better
Choose CarrierOS AI when
- You want a carrier-only workflow with fewer unrelated modules.
- You have several office users and do not want to pay for each login.
- AI rate-confirmation review is central to your process.
- You prefer pricing tied to active trucks.
Verdict: AscendTMS is broader and advertises far more integrations. CarrierOS AI is more focused. Price depends on your structure: one Ascend Basic user is $69, while three are $207; CarrierOS pricing depends on active trucks, not office users.
5. CarrierOS AI vs. Alvys
Alvys is a strong option for integration-heavy and hybrid carrier-broker operations. Its pricing information page describes load-based monthly or annual pricing and requires a quote. Its hybrid TMS page says plans start at $514 per month.
Alvys advertises more than 120 integrations with no setup fee, unlimited users and business divisions, native EDI, an open API, load-board access, dispatch, driver mobile tools, tracking, accounting, settlements, IFTA, maintenance, safety, and analytics.
Alvys may fit better
Choose Alvys when
- Native EDI, an open API, or a large live integration catalog is required.
- You run both carrier and brokerage operations.
- Load-board, accounting, IFTA, safety, and maintenance depth matter.
- A custom, load-based quote fits your operation.
CarrierOS AI may fit better
Choose CarrierOS AI when
- You want a lower entry price and an easy truck-based estimate.
- A self-service 30-day trial matters.
- You need carrier-office fundamentals without the larger Alvys ecosystem.
- Your current integration needs are limited.
Verdict: Alvys is stronger for hybrid businesses and carriers that depend on many integrations. CarrierOS AI is easier to price before a sales call and is aimed at a smaller carrier office. Get a written Alvys quote because the real cost depends on load volume and the agreement.
6. CarrierOS AI vs. Rose Rocket
Rose Rocket’s Full Service Platform is the least direct comparison because it targets more complex operations. It starts at $2,080 per month and includes unlimited users, custom fields, automations, TED, Rosie, and Rocky AI agents, order management, dispatch, tracking, invoicing, custom boards, no-code workflows, and a 90-day go-live program.
The pricing page lists access to more than 40 integrations for Full Service, while Enterprise adds custom integrations and unlimited API access. TED turns emails into orders, keeps them updated as new emails arrive, and connects documents to the TMS.
Rose Rocket also documents a free TMS.ai Spark version. Spark is useful to know about, but it is not the same offering as the Full Service Platform compared here.
Rose Rocket Full Service may fit better
Choose Rose Rocket Full Service when
- You need custom fields, boards, objects, and no-code operating rules.
- Several locations or business lines need different workflows.
- Enterprise security, custom integrations, and a guided rollout matter.
- Your budget can support a four-figure monthly platform.
CarrierOS AI may fit better
Choose CarrierOS AI when
- You run a small carrier with standard dispatch and back-office needs.
- Faster, simpler adoption is more important than deep configuration.
- You want predictable per-truck pricing.
- A $2,080 Full Service starting price is not practical for the fleet.
Verdict: Rose Rocket Full Service offers much deeper configuration for complex operations. CarrierOS AI is more accessible for a small carrier that needs a direct workflow rather than an operating platform it must configure.
What would each system cost in a simple example?
Five trucks and three office users
This example uses public starting prices only. It does not include tax, add-ons, implementation, usage limits, or negotiated quotes.
- CarrierOS AI: $100 per month after the 30-day trial if all five trucks are active and billable; three office users do not add seat fees.
- Truckbase: at least $290 per month when billed annually; the final amount depends on the chosen pricing model and proposal.
- TruckingOffice: $55 per month for Basic or $75 for Pro at the three-to-seven-truck tier; additional users are included.
- AscendTMS: $207 per month for three Basic users, $357 for three Premium users, or $447 for three Pro users.
- Alvys: request a load-based quote; its hybrid page states a $514 monthly starting point.
- Rose Rocket: Full Service starts at $2,080 per month with unlimited users.
This example shows why the billing unit matters. A carrier with many trucks and one office user may like per-user pricing. A carrier with several office users and a small fleet may prefer per-truck pricing. A seasonal company may prefer load-based or flat annual pricing.
Which TMS fits your trucking company?
Choose CarrierOS AI
For a small or growing carrier that wants AI-assisted rate-confirmation review, connected dispatch and billing records, document readiness, invoice packets, and settlement review at a clear active-truck price.
Choose Truckbase
For a carrier-focused workflow with broader ELD coverage, EDI, QuickBooks, real-time tracking, and a guided pricing and onboarding process.
Choose TruckingOffice
When affordability, IFTA, ELD availability, basic dispatch, invoicing, expenses, maintenance, and owner-operator tools come first.
Choose AscendTMS
When broad carrier, broker, 3PL, or shipper tools, many integrations, load search, IFTA, and operational modules matter more than carrier-only simplicity.
Choose Alvys
When native EDI, a large integration catalog, load-board access, accounting depth, API access, and hybrid operations are required.
Choose Rose Rocket
When the business needs enterprise configuration, AI agents, no-code workflows, custom boards, and a structured implementation.
Run the same load through every TMS
Before choosing, ask each vendor to complete the same real workflow. Do not compare one vendor’s polished dashboard with another vendor’s unfinished setup screen.
- Enter or import a rate confirmation.
- Check every stop, appointment, rate, reference, and instruction.
- Assign a driver, truck, and trailer.
- Record a pickup change and a delivery update.
- Attach a POD, BOL, receipt, and revised document.
- Review invoice readiness and build the billing packet.
- Review driver pay, including one deduction or adjustment.
- Find the load, documents, invoice, and settlement again one month later.
The best TMS is not the one with the longest feature list. It is the one your team can use correctly from rate confirmation to payment.
Frequently asked questions
Is CarrierOS AI cheaper than TruckingOffice?
Not in every case. TruckingOffice’s public fleet tiers cost less for some fleet sizes. CarrierOS AI competes through AI-assisted load entry, connected records, and per-active-truck pricing, not by claiming to be the cheapest option.
Is CarrierOS AI better than Truckbase?
It depends on the fleet. CarrierOS AI offers simpler public pricing and a focused small-carrier workflow. Truckbase currently advertises more ELD connections plus EDI, tracking, and QuickBooks. A carrier should choose based on the integrations and office workflow it actually needs.
Which platform advertises the most integrations?
AscendTMS advertises more than 140 preinstalled integrations. Alvys advertises more than 120, Rose Rocket Full Service lists more than 40, and Truckbase advertises more than 30 ELD connections plus EDI and QuickBooks. Confirm the exact connection and plan instead of relying on the total count.
Is CarrierOS AI suitable for a one-truck owner-operator?
It can be, especially when the owner wants structured load, document, invoice, and business records. TruckingOffice may be more attractive when the lowest monthly price, IFTA, or its ELD are the first priorities.
Does CarrierOS AI automatically create loads?
CarrierOS AI prepares a structured draft from common rate-confirmation information. A dispatcher reviews and corrects the draft before creating the load. The goal is faster, safer entry rather than unattended load creation.
Does CarrierOS AI have integrations?
CarrierOS AI does not currently advertise a large integration catalog. A carrier that depends on a specific ELD, load board, EDI customer, accounting system, or factoring connection should confirm availability before changing systems.
Final verdict
CarrierOS AI does not win every category. It does not yet match the published integration depth of Alvys, Truckbase, or AscendTMS. It is not as configurable as Rose Rocket Full Service. It is not always as inexpensive as TruckingOffice.
Its position is more specific: CarrierOS AI TMS is a carrier-built, AI-assisted system for small and growing fleets that want rate confirmations, dispatch, documents, invoices, and driver settlements connected in one practical workspace, with pricing of $20 per active billable truck per month and no separate office-user fees.
That can be a useful middle ground between disconnected office tools and a larger platform with more integrations, configuration, and cost than a small carrier needs.
